Wildcat Formation: A Nice Little Saturday PowercatRyan September 13, 2013 Features, Wildcat Formation Who’s ready for another game in Fort Snyder? I am excited for this weekend to get started because it marks the last game here in Manhattan for almost a month. I plan on cherishing the time I spend in and around the West Stadium Center this week as I hope to get a peak inside of the beautiful new addition. Tonight at 6pm, there is a West Stadium Center open house. I am pretty excited about this opportunity, because I will probably never again have the chance to take a look at what the sexy facade has inside to entertain its Saturday inhabitants. Maybe I will venture to a local convenience store and pick up a PowerBall ticket, get luck and live the good life up there some day. Somehow, there is still a QB controversy, but the star of Saturday’s game may be the weather. With a high in the lower 80’s, I expect to see a full crowd on both sides as the 6pm kick-off and no traditional TV should help bolster an already great experience around Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The athletic department is also hosting a fan appreciation steak fry from 1-5 pm for all Ahearn fund members that RSVP’d earlier this week. I have been invited for a few years now, but because I usually work on Saturday until an hour before kick-off (Thanks empoyers!), I have not been able to make it in time. You better believe that I am going in there hungry and making up for years lost. All of that happens before the game even starts. Once that begins we will have a few series of Waters. A few of Sams as a back-up. Fans will discuss which one should come out at half-time and start the third quarter and then I am going to get even more excited when we get a chance to see the third string QB in, hopefully, Kody Cook. I have heard some great things about how capable he is and I am hopeful that we get to see him for a series or two. Maybe we will even see a little bit of what DeMarcus Robinson can do? I am also excited to see what kind of depth we have on the defensive side of the ball. To be honest, if it wasn’t for the depth chart, I don’t know if I could name very many on the second or third team defenses. So many guys on that side of the ball moved on and the familiar names are already on the field as starters now. But this is what true, die-hard fans love. Who’s the next guy up? Who do we have that is going to be ‘The Next Big Thing?’ Who had a great play or game against a horrible second team offense that will spark another controversy similar to the one with Sams and Waters? So I got a nice little Saturday planned. I might try to make it to Bed, Bath and Beyond. I don’t know if I’ll have enough time. Just do me a favor and have a month’s worth of fun tomorrow. We won’t be back for another game until October 12 against Baylor. Never Forget.
