Right on Kimball: K-State vs Texas Dara Bitler March 7, 2015 Features, Right on Kimball Without a win today, the only way K-State is getting into the NCAA Tournament is by winning the Big 12 Tournament. For Texas, getting a win today gives them a pretty good shot at getting into the tournament. For both teams, there’s a lot to gain and a lot to lose. What I liked: Marcus Foster showed up to play. His body was much better than it has been in a long time. He was aggressive and he drove to the basket. Thomas Gibson was a beast played strong Much better rebounding during the second half. What I didn’t like: We got completely dominated by blocked shots. Rebounding in the first half. Defense under the basket. This has been a problem for K-State for a VERY long time. I will continue to be frustrated with it until it’s fixed. Transition defense. Our ability to win on the road. Holmes and Ridley. Went way too deep into the shot clock and then took bad shoots. There weren’t many things I liked about this game. It wasn’t our best. Texas came to play! Nino Williams is the glue guy for our team. I’m not going to use him or Jevon as a reason we lost today. We got beat. Our only hope of making the tournament now, is by winning the Big 12 tournament. At this time, it looks like we will be facing TCU for round 1. Anything is possible but our chances of dancing this season are very slim. Let’s go win the Big 12 Tournament! Bring on the cats!
