Listen to Episode Underwood: Driver's Seat

The Salute Hall of Fame

Brad Underwood
Player: 1985-87

Assistant Coach: 2006-2012

If you look at Brad Underwood’s career numbers at K-State as a player it wouldn’t be the sort of thing that gets him in The Salute’s Hall of Fame, but as an assistant coach, including time as the associate head coach, for some of the most successful teams at K-State in decades, he’s well worth including. It’s clear he’s a K-State guy, and was certainly a fan favorite on Frank Martin’s coaching staff.

When you have a win like the one at Oklahoma last Saturday, you’re going to end up with a lot of options for the EMAWard, but when you look at the game as a whole, there was one that stood out above the rest, and that’s quarterback Jake Waters.

For the 2nd straight game, Waters takes the award, and did so after suffering an injury on the first play of the 2nd half. He told Bill Snyder that he’d do whatever was asked of him, which included running for a touchdown, and doing what was necessary to take the 2nd win in a row at Oklahoma.

Congratulations Jake!

Pick’em Contests

NCAA: Overall Mike (aka PurpleCat) remains in the lead for the season long contest by two picks, but everyone is trying to make their move. This week’s winner was Seth, with 24 of 27 correct picks.

NFL: There’s now a 3 way tie at the top for the season. This week’s winner was a tie as well, between Seth (woah, sweeping the contests!) and Irish.

Survival: We’re down to just two teams left once again. It’s Mike and Eddie waiting to see who survives this time.

You can still sign up to join the college pick’em or NFL pick’em. Find the info here.
