Started in 2011, right after the infamous Pinstripe Bowl, they had no idea it would eventually grow into the site it is today, and the actual salute would become a memory. They wanted to do The Salute from the simple perspective of a couple fans without any inside info, or special expertise. Always trying to make it entertaining as well as somewhat informative, they look at the games we just finished, ahead to the next week, and discuss any other news surrounding K-State sports. In 2012 The Salute expanded to include a full website and blog and enlisted the help of several talented, goofy, and passionate K-State fans. All of us work for free to attempt to inform and entertain K-State fans. Some contributors have come and gone, but everything they’ve added to the site over the years remains. You can find all of our current contributors here. 2015-16 began a new era for the podcast, as schedules made it harder to coordinate co-hosts, Mike has begun doing many episodes solo in a faster paced, more frequent format. Even with more demands on our time, we weren’t ready to let the show go just yet. After all, The Salute is the longest running podcast in the history of K-State sports. K-State fans, we salute you. Most days you’ll find feature columns right here on TheSalutePodcast.com. We’re not a news site. Don’t look here for breaking news or in-depth reporting on recruits and other stories. There are already great places for that. We’re just a group of fans who love K-State and want to share that passion with others in a fun and positive way. We don’t have a message board. The world already has enough of those. But if you have something to say, join in the conversations in the comments any time or contact us through email, our mailbag form, on Twitter, or by leaving a voicemail at 601.885.EMAW. If you think you’d make a great addition to the team, let us know. Win or lose, in good times or bad, we’re here with the rest of our K-State family. Faithful to our colors, we shall ever be… The Salute has no affiliation with Kansas State University or any part therein… except for the loyal and passionate love for it shared by the hosts and contributors.
